First decide if you want the movers to do the packing for you or if you want to save some money by doing all or some of the packing by yourself. Dispose of all the items you don't need anymore. Start packing ahead of time - pack some boxes every day. it is recommended to purchase good packing supplies such as moving boxes, tape, bubble wrap and packing paper. Pack each room at a time and label the boxes properly. Pack light items in large boxes and heavy items in small boxes. Fragile items such as plates and pictures should be placed vertically in the box with lots of paper or cloth cushioning.
